1. Explosive substances:<\/p>\n
(a) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Solid or liquid substances and mixtures (substances) which<\/p>\n
aa) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 can be caused to explode by ordinary thermal, mechanical or other load; and<\/p>\n
(bb)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 have been found to be explosive when tested in accordance with the test methods set out in Annex Part A.14. to Regulation (EC) No 440\/2008 of 30 May 2008 laying down test methods pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1907\/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) (OJ L 142, 31\/5\/2008, p. 1), as last amended by Regulation (EU) 2016\/266 (OJ L 54, 1\/3\/2016, p. 1), as last published in the Official Journal of the European Union.<\/p>\n
The method consists of three parts:<\/p>\n
(a) Test of thermal sensitivity \u2192 more<\/a>,<\/p>\n (b) Test of mechanical sensitivity with respect to shock \u2192 more<\/a>,<\/p>\n (b) Test of mechanical sensitivity with respect to friction \u2192 more<\/a>.<\/p>\n The method yields data to assess the likelihood of initiating an explosion by means of certain common stimuli.
