El objeto de prueba al igual que el recipiente Dewar (v\u00e9ase la figura) se calientan a una temperatura de 50 \u00b0C aproximadamente. Luego se llena el objeto de prueba en el recipiente Dewar unos 20 mm por debajo del borde. Se registran la masa y la temperatura del objeto de prueba. Despu\u00e9s, el recipiente Dewar se coloca detr\u00e1s de una pantalla en un sistema de extracci\u00f3n. El objeto de prueba se caliente en la superficie con un quemador de gas (mechero de propano) durante por lo menos cinco minutos.<\/p>\n<p>Si se produce un encendido, se retira el quemador de gas. Se mide el tiempo requerido por la zona de reacci\u00f3n para atravesar la distancia entre las marcas de 50 y 100 mm desde la parte superior del recipiente Dewar.
