Estas incluyen el tamizado y la difracci\u00f3n l\u00e1ser. En esta \u00faltima se vierte la muestra en un aparato de difracci\u00f3n por l\u00e1ser a trav\u00e9s de un surco de vibraci\u00f3n que garantiza una alimentaci\u00f3n continua. En el aparato de medici\u00f3n, dispersan las part\u00edculas en una corriente de aire y pasan por un rayo l\u00e1ser. A trav\u00e9s de la dispersi\u00f3n y la intensidad del l\u00e1ser, el aparato calcula la distribuci\u00f3n granulom\u00e9trica de la muestra que permite obtener el valor mediano D50. Las interacciones entre l\u00e1ser y part\u00edculas dependen de la forma, del tama\u00f1o y de la superficie de las part\u00edculas. Por lo tanto hay varias teor\u00edas que permiten determinar la distribuci\u00f3n granulom\u00e9trica a base de la dispersi\u00f3n por l\u00e1ser. En caso de part\u00edculas esf\u00e9ricas se aplica la teor\u00eda de dispersi\u00f3n seg\u00fan Fraunhofer o bien la teor\u00eda seg\u00fan Mie.<\/p>\n<p>A base de las caracter\u00edsticas del material puede ser necesario dispersar y medir la muestra mediante una c\u00e9lula de dispersi\u00f3n h\u00fameda en medios espec\u00edficos.
