L\u2019appareillage utilis\u00e9 est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 en <strong>Figure 1<\/strong>. Pour l\u2019essai, on introduit environ 120 \u00e0 140 g de substance dans le tube en verre (\u00d8 = 88 mm &#8211; H = 320 mm). L\u2019\u00e9chantillon est stock\u00e9 pendant au moins 0,5 heure, de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 laisser un laps de temps suffisant pour que puisse s\u2019\u00e9tablir l\u2019\u00e9quilibre liquide-vapeur. Apr\u00e8s la dur\u00e9e d\u2019\u00e9quilibrage de temp\u00e9rature, on teste \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019une \u00e9tincelle d\u2019allumage (\u00e9nergie &gt; 1 J) si l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re gazeuse se trouvant au-dessus de l\u2019\u00e9chantillon se laisse enflammer.<\/p>\n<p>La pression atmosph\u00e9rique est enregistr\u00e9e pendant la mesure.<\/p>\n<p>La temp\u00e9rature maximale \u00e0 laquelle il ne se produit plus d\u2018inflammation est d\u00e9finie comme \u00abtemp\u00e9rature limite \u00e0 la LIE sous la pression atmosph\u00e9rique\u00bb PIE<sub>0<\/sub>, et il convient de la convertir \u00e0 la pression standard (1013\u00a0hPa) \u00e0 partir de la pression atmosph\u00e9rique relev\u00e9e au moment de la mesure, conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 la formule de correction suivante.<\/p>\n<p>T<sub>LIE<\/sub> = T<sub>LIE 0<\/sub> + 0,025 \u2022 (1013 \u2013 p) ;<br \/>\navec T<sub>LIE<\/sub> = Temp\u00e9rature limite en LIE corrig\u00e9 en \u00b0C ;
