Conform\u00e9ment au Droit du transport des mati\u00e8res dangereuses ONU, il convient toujours de classifier comme mati\u00e8re dangereuse de la classe 8 (substances corrosives) toute substance dont la corrosivit\u00e9 pour la peau ou la corrosivit\u00e9 pour les m\u00e9taux, objet de la pr\u00e9sente \u00e9preuve, aura \u00e9t\u00e9 prouv\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Dans cette \u00e9preuve, on entrepose des \u00e9prouvettes de plaquettes d\u2019aluminium et des \u00e9prouvettes de plaquettes d\u2019acier, de type et de taille d\u00e9finis, \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature de 55\u00b0C pour au minimum 168 heures (7 jours) dans des r\u00e9cipients remplis de la substance \u00e0 tester. \u00a0Il est imp\u00e9ratif que l\u2019un des \u00e9chantillons de m\u00e9tal soit totalement immerg\u00e9 dans le liquide, que le deuxi\u00e8me ne soit immerg\u00e9 qu\u2019\u00e0 moiti\u00e9, et que le troisi\u00e8me reste en suspension dans la phase gazeuse. Il est n\u00e9cessaire que le r\u00e9acteur contienne au minimum 1,5 litre de la substance \u00e0 tester, ce qui explique qu\u2019une quantit\u00e9 aussi importante de substance \u00e0 tester soit requise pour cette \u00e9preuve. Cette m\u00e9thode ne peut toutefois pas se substituer \u00e0 un contr\u00f4le classique du mat\u00e9riel. Apr\u00e8s l\u2019ach\u00e8vement de l\u2019\u00e9preuve, les \u00e9chantillons de m\u00e9tal doivent \u00eatre nettoy\u00e9s, s\u00e9ch\u00e9s puis pes\u00e9s et examin\u00e9s au microscope. Il est alors possible de d\u00e9terminer le taux de corrosion apr\u00e8s prise en compte de la masse sp\u00e9cifique de l\u2019\u00e9chantillon de m\u00e9tal. Ce taux est \u00e9valu\u00e9 sur la base des crit\u00e8res suivants\u00a0:<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #e50000;\">Corrosion uniforme<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>Si la perte de masse de l\u2019un des trois \u00e9chantillons test\u00e9s est sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la perte de masse par corrosion th\u00e9orique calcul\u00e9e sur la base de 6,25 mm\/an, l\u2019\u00e9preuve est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme positive. Elle correspond \u00e0 une perte de masse de 13,5 % en 7 jours sous condition d\u2019une temp\u00e9rature de 55\u00b0C. La substance test\u00e9e est alors d\u00e9clar\u00e9e comme corrosive pour les m\u00e9taux. A contrario, si le r\u00e9sultat est n\u00e9gatif, la substance test\u00e9e est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme non corrosive pour les m\u00e9taux.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #e50000;\">Corrosion localis\u00e9e<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>On consid\u00e8re ici la profondeur du creux le plus profond ou la plus grande diminution de l\u2019\u00e9paisseur de l\u2019\u00e9chantillon de m\u00e9tal comme crit\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9valuation. On d\u00e9termine la profondeur du creux au moyen d\u2019un microscope optique avec unit\u00e9 de mesure de profondeur. Si l\u2019on enregistre une profondeur de creux &gt;120 \u00b5m dans un d\u00e9lai de r\u00e9action de sept jours, on parle alors de corrosion localis\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Une corrosion uniforme et une corrosion localis\u00e9e peuvent se pr\u00e9senter de mani\u00e8re isol\u00e9e mais elles peuvent \u00eatre \u00e9galement compl\u00e9mentaires.
