L&#8217;oggetto di prova e il vaso di Dewar (vedi figura) vengono riscaldati a una temperatura di prova di circa 50\u00b0C. L&#8217;oggetto viene quindi versato nel vaso di Dewar a circa 20 mm sotto il bordo. Si procede a registrare massa e temperatura dell\u2019oggetto di prova. Infine, il vaso di Dewar viene posizionato sotto una cappa dietro una schermatura. Il campione \u00e8 riscaldato in superficie con un bruciatore a gas (accendino a propano) per almeno 5 minuti.<\/p>\n<p>Se si verifica un&#8217;accensione, il bruciatore a gas viene rimosso. Si misura il tempo necessario alla zona di reazione per attraversare la distanza tra le marcature 50 e 100 mm sulla parte superiore del vaso di Dewar.
