L\u2019energia minima di infiammabilit\u00e0 si riduce con il decrescere delle particelle e con l\u2019aumentare della temperatura.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019apparecchio \u00e8 costituito da un tubo Hartmann di vetro modificato. Al centro del tubo ci sono due fori per inserire gli elettrodi che possono indurre un&#8217;energia compresa tra 1 mJ e 1.000 mJ. Sul fondo dell&#8217;apparecchio si trova un sistema di dispersione della polvere che, con aria compressa a 7 bar, fa girare la polvere nell&#8217;apparecchio e produce una miscela di polvere e aria di diversa concentrazione. La miscela viene infiammata dagli elettrodi. Le prove vengono eseguite con tempi di ritardo ed energie di accensione differenti. La valutazione dei risultati \u00e8 visiva. L\u2019energia minima di infiammabilit\u00e0 viene determinata sia a temperatura ambiente sia a temperatura superiore.
